Friends, we are pleased to say that we only have one more week until we are done recording our new album! This final week, we are adding all the final touches to the songs and making sure they are in good shape to release to you guys. We are more than pleased with how these songs are coming out. I think you all will agree. After the record is done, we are going to travel to our lovely home in South Dakota and rest up before we depart for the Vans Warped Tour. We’ll be on the whole thing this year so make sure to come out and rock out with us. We have some cool touring plans for this fall in the works so we’ll keep you posted as more details come forth. Thanks for waiting for this record…it’ll definitely be worth the wait. Love you all,
The Spill Canvas

Oh my, what a fantastically crazy day. Where do I begin? Those of you who reside in the northern mid-west know that the weather has been less than favorable. In some cases, 2 feet of snow has accumulated.
After staying in beautiful Lawrence, Kansas, we departed on a journey to Omaha, Nebraska, knowing that the interstates were closed. We, wanting to do anything but miss the show, kept on trucking, trying to find any state highway open that would take us to Omaha. I was driving much slower than the speed limit when it happened…we hit an ice patch. Immediately the trailer spun around and struck our van with vengeance and immediately whipped around the other way, jack knifing and forcing us into the ditch. slowly, we felt our van hop onto two wheels before it finally settled on all four, nearly rolling over. We were stuck in over a foot of snow, wheels doing nothing but spinning.
According to AAA, we would be unable to get towed out for another 8 to 10 hours.
Luckily, 3 random Ford F-250s and their owners stopped. Daryl, our TM/FOH and I shoveled tons of snow from under our van/trailer and with the help of our new found friends, we were miraculously pulled out of the ditch. Without the help of the locals, we would have missed the show.
I drove 20 mph the rest of the way but we made it to Omaha and the show was great.
If the van had rolled we would have been in deep trouble, if not severed into 1,307 pieces. Our near death experience rattled all of us and for the rest of our day, our nerves were shot.
Nonetheless, we love you and hope all of you are well. we’ll be putting some lovely pictures and videos up as soon as we get our act in gear!
And Finally, Happy Spill Canvas Month! (every month is spill canvas month)
love,
Joe
What’s poppin’ sunflowers? We’ve made the decision to Take Action in 2007. Us, along with a plethora of other amazing bands combined on a great compilation CD that hits stores today (Feb 6th). A portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Kristin Brooks Hope Center, which serves youth through The Youth American Hotline! 1-877-YOUTHLINE (for more info visit www.youthline.us). Writing the next album and signing with Sire
A great big holiday hello to you beautiful people! We here at the Spill Canvas camp are basking in the winter sun, and soaking up all the holiday cheer. But first and foremost, we are writing new music for all of you to dance to…or kiss, or scream, or hug – the point is that we have had an amazing year growing with you, and we can’t wait to start a new chapter alongside the best fans in the world!
Looks like we’ll be hitting the studio with producer Neal Avron (The Wallflowers, Fallout Boy, Yellowcard, Weezer, etc.) around February for our 3rd album to be released on the all too amazing Sire Records! As soon as more solid touring plans form you will all be the first to hear. In conclusion, I would like to wish you a safe and happy holiday from us. In 2007, the world will feel the shake and rumble of the Spill Canvas army-care to join? We Love You to Pieces.
-Nick
Hello Everybody!
So it’s been a while since we’ve talked. How have you been? Anything new in your lives? Well let me tell you whats new with us. First off, we had an incredible time in September and October on the Sugarcult tour and at the Bamboozle in Pamona. Thanks so much to all for coming out and supporting us on our last tour of the year. Since then, we’ve been hard at work writing some new tunes for your lovely little ears. We have somewhere in the realm of 20-30 songs. We are set to record a new full length in February with the great Neal Avron (New Found Glory, Fall Out Boy, The Wallflowers).
Also, did I mention that there is a new record label in the picture? Thats right, we have signed to Sire Records. It is an amazing feeling to have record label share the same direction and goals that the four of us have, and that also has the resources to accomplish them. We are so excited about this. Together, with Sire and YOU, TSC will take over the world. We will be checking in with you more regularly to let you know our progress and how things are going. So please keep stopping by and keeping tabs on us. We’ll have all kinds of wacky things to say to you folks. So until then…stay warm and keep rocking. Peace out!!
-Scott
What’s up all you crazy tigers and dandelions. Nick and Scott already filled you in on everything that’s happened so I’m more or less just saying hi and letting you know that I’m thinking of you and can’t wait to get some music out to you guys as soon as possible. We’re having fun writing lots of tunes and we’re excited to see you again on tour soon.
It’s been fun talking to you and I hope you have a wonderful holiday,
love,
-Joe
