This privacy notice explains how thespillcanvas.com handles ordinary website data. The site is an independent music archive and is not the official website of The Spill Canvas.
Data the site may process
The web server may record an IP address, browser type, requested URL, timestamp, referrer and response status in standard security and access logs. These records help keep the site available, diagnose errors and investigate abuse. If you email the editorial team, the message contains the information you choose to provide.
Cookies and embedded services
WordPress, security tools or preference controls may set functional cookies. A page may link to an official artist website, Bandcamp or a streaming service; those external sites apply their own privacy terms. We prefer ordinary links over unnecessary embeds so that opening an archive article does not automatically send a request to every external platform mentioned in it.
Retention and sharing
Operational logs are retained only as long as reasonably needed for security, troubleshooting and hosting administration. Contact messages are kept while a correction, rights request or source contribution is being reviewed. Data is not sold. It may be processed by hosting, security or email providers that are necessary to operate the site, or disclosed when required by law.
Your request
You may ask what personal information you sent through the contact route, request a correction or ask for deletion when no overriding legal or security need requires retention. Use the moderated form on the contact page and include enough detail to identify the relevant submission.
For editorial sourcing and correction rules, see the Editorial & Corrections Policy.
